Wiring flowers is an entirely different thing

such a proliferation of 800# "Order Collectors"
that are reducing the value of flowers by wire.
Everyone wants in on the game, from the biggest
800 number companies to internet order collectors,
everyone BUT florists! They have figured out
how to get a large percent of YOUR money when
you send flowers through them. We think they
are parasites, and they are the reason for flower
prices increasing.
There is a disturbing
new trend now among the big wire services.
It seems they aren't happy making the 7% of
the value of wired flowers, plus monthly fees
and advertising revenues paid by their members.
So they have started their own services to collect
orders, competing with their own members for
profits. They are advertising in places
like search engine banners, gasoline company
credit card statements, direct email, phone
bills, television, America Online, you name
it. This is big money. YOUR money.
